JOB DESCRIPTION

Location: Hybrid | Downtown, Toronto

Our client a leading financial institution in Downtown Toronto is looking for a permanent full-time Senior Manager, GWO Asset Servicing – Income Processing to oversee daily operations, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures and successful completion of required deliverables. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with one of the Top 5 Banks in Canada.

Typical Day in role:

  • Lead and develop the team, setting performance goals and staff development plans
  • Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge
  • Create an environment in which the team continuously improves to drive efficient operations and controls
  • Lead the strategic formulation, implementation and oversight of policies, procedures, and managerial controls
  • Understand the industry and regulatory environment and proactively prepare for industry changes
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations
  • Participate and support projects in connection with the continuing evolution of the business
  • Effectively manage control accounts, reconciliation exception resolution, coordination of internal and external audit responses, and coordination of ad-hoc requests by business partners
  • Work with the Operations Control unit to ensure the accuracy of internal books and records
  • Drive strategies and planning as well as the day-to-day operational management and business priority assessments
  • Actively pursue effective and efficient operations in accordance with bank’s Code of Conduct and Policies, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, and conduct risk
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to execute work and fulfill service expectations
  • Experience in diverse income and corporate action events; along with product knowledge across capital markets; ETFs, Equities, Bonds, GICs, etc.

Must-Have Skills:

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Capital Markets and Wealth Management
  • Expertise in Income and Claims processing
  • Experience with reconciliations
  • Advance computer and analytics skills, particularly in Microsoft Power Platform and Office suite
  • Must have strong leadership and communication skills
  • Analytical and detail oriented
  • Self-motivated problem solver

Education:

  • University degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or other relevant education
