JOB DESCRIPTION

Location: Hybrid (Scarborough, ON)
Duration: Until October 31, 2024

Our client a leading financial institution in Downtown Toronto is looking for a Solutions Architect-IAM to support the governance tasks in the migration project. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work within the Top 5 Banks in Canada and will get to work with and learn from diverse industry leaders, who have hailed from top technology.

Typical Day in role:

  • Build and support within the lower environments and supporting the deployment of applications and users into production.
  • Application production support.
  • Manage and secure access to resources in Google Cloud and Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
  • Look for various governance related policies and adjusting them up to the applicable standards of the enterprise.
  • Support the migration of cloud acceleration/migration project.
  • Work on cloud identities and IAM initiatives.
  • Report to the Hiring Manager.

Must-Have Skills:

  • 10+ years of working experience as a Solutions Architect
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience and understanding of IAM Roles – Both the basic and predefined roles in Google Cloud’s Identity and Access Management (IAM) system. This includes roles like Viewer, Editor, and Owner, each of which grants different levels of access to Google Cloud resources.
  • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud and Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
  • 5+ years of experience working with Kubernetes RBAC – Familiar with Kubernetes’ native role-based access control (RBAC) system, which manages access to resources in the cluster. They would need to understand how IAM and RBAC can work together to secure resources.
  • Basic understanding of IAM tools such as SailPoint/CyberArk.

Nice-To-Have Skills:

  • Auditing experience – May be involved in auditing-related job functions. They could be part of a team that reviews logs and manages access to historical audit data.
  • Data analytics experience.
  • IAM/Cybersecurity/Cloud Certifications.

Soft Skills Required:

  • Strong communications skills to facilitate meetings with various stakeholders, communicate ambiguous topics in a structured manner and deliver presentations/demos. Attention to details, high standards for quality.
  • Strong decision making, forward thinking and creative problem-solving skills to anticipate and respond quickly to technological/market influences.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, as well as work independently or with minimal direction.
  • Strong analytical skills.

Education:

  • Post-secondary degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related IT field is an asset.
