JOB DESCRIPTION

Location: On-site | Mississauga, ON

Duration: 3 months

Our client a leading financial institution in  Mississauga is looking for a Trade Capture Administrator to monitor FX trade queues on MVP. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with one of the Top 5 Banks in Canada.

Typical Day in role:

Efficiency and Productivity

  • Retrieve trade information from clients that are sent electronically via ISO, SSCNET and other trading systems.
  • Pre-verify all information and repair where necessary on MVP.
  • Input/Authorize/Release trades received manually on MVP/TRUST/SMAC
  • Refer to Client Service Delivery, clients or Investment Managers with STP and NI-24-101 issues.
  • Ensure all trade cancellations/corrections are researched and dealt with in a timely manner and forwarded to the cancellation team for immediate processing.
  • Suggest / Implement processing improvements and embrace changes
  • Ability to multi-task and ensure accuracy, efficiency and in meeting Industry deadlines.

Risk Management and Compliance

  • Adopt the highest professional standards.
  • Ensure CtrNet is updated as required
  • Ensure all established processing procedures are followed to mitigate risk.
  • Ensure all system access granted is relevant and in line with the assigned role.
  • Ensure contributions are made to support a “satisfactory audit”.
  • Ensure all Policies and Procedures are in place and any amendments are duly authorized.
  • BCP procedure in place is understood and the required participation on WAR exercise is met.
  • Exercise sound judgement and make business decisions on an appropriate understanding of risk in order to protect the long term interests of the bank and its clients.

Client Service

  • Act all times in the best interest of the bank and its clients, within the firm’s risk appetite to prevent any unfavorable outcomes / harm to clients.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet very strict deadlines
  • Ability to multi-task and ensure accuracy/efficiency/timeliness, especially in reviewing and authorizing client instructions.
  • Proactively advise clients via Client Operation – Service Delivery of industry standards and regulatory requirements and potential risks of non-compliance
  • Liaise with Client Operations-Service Delivery for trade instruction and STP issues.
  • Identify fax or manual clients for possible automation
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet very strict deadlines

Teamwork

  • Display work ethics that foster team spirit and a respectful workplace.
  • Offer help when the need arise especially when the team experience high volume and staff shortage.
  • Collaborate with management decisions and discretions that are required to mitigate risks.
  • Ensure sufficient cross-training plans are in place and achieved for sufficient coverage during unexpected FTE shortage within and outside the team.
  • Knowledge and “client exception” sharing to avoid surprises when backing up a desk.
  • Support and adopt to new initiatives

Lead Hand

  • The role also takes responsibility within the team in mentoring fellow expediters, especially the new hires.

Must-Have Skills:

  • 1 Year trade processing experience
  • Very strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications
  • Solid knowledge of Trade Processing principles
