JOB DESCRIPTION
Location: Hybrid | Downtown, Toronto
Duration: 10 Months
Our client, a leading financial institution in Downtown Toronto, is looking for a ServiceNow Developer – CIS-HR to lead the design, implementation and configuration of all aspects of ServiceNow HRSD, including integration with other HR Core systems such as SuccessFactors. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with one of the Top 5 Banks in Canada.
Typical Day in role:
- Own feature delivery from requirements gathering through deployment, ensuring quality and reliability.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in ServiceNow development, configuration, and integration.
- Oversee development and technical activities to ensure project is delivered on time, within budget and in alignment with architectural and quality standards.
- Enforce coding standards, design patterns, and best practices within the team.
- Conduct code reviews and provide technical guidance to peers and junior engineers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including system administrators, business analysts, and external vendors, to deliver integrated solutions.
- Participate in requirement gathering sessions and clarify technical risks and impacts.
- Support SAP HCM enhancement and other HR applications as required
- Technical Expertise & Project Delivery
- Design, build, and configure ServiceNow HRSD solutions through direct, hands on development, including integrations with HR Core systems such as SuccessFactors.
- Own end to end feature delivery from requirements clarification through build, testing, and deployment, ensuring quality and reliability.
- Act as a hands on subject matter expert by actively contributing to solution design, development, and integration work.
- Ensure technical delivery aligns with project plans, architectural requirements, and quality standards through execution and technical decision making.
- Apply coding standards and design patterns through active development and code reviews to reduce technical debt.
- Perform code reviews and provide practical, hands on guidance to improve solution quality and maintainability.
- Work directly with cross functional teams and vendors to design, build, and deliver integrated solutions.
- Participate in requirements working sessions to assess technical risks and translate decisions into working configurations and code.
- Build and support enhancements to SAP HCM and other HR applications as required.
- Operational Excellence
- Monitor and troubleshoot production issues, resolve incidents promptly, and communicate outcomes clearly to business partners.
- Support small to large development and maintenance efforts across HR ServiceNow, including work involving multiple interfaces and third party integrations.
- Contribute hands on to the ongoing design, build, and enhancement of HR ServiceNow to meet HR Service Delivery requirements.
- Apply a user centred, design thinking mindset when building and enhancing solutions to improve usability and outcomes.
- Stay current with ServiceNow platform updates and emerging capabilities, and apply relevant changes to improve performance, reliability, and maintainability.
- Proactively identify and implement improvements that reduce operational risk, support effort, and technical debt.
- Produce and maintain clear technical documentation for system designs, configurations, and user guidance.
Must Have Skills:
- 5-7 years of hands-on ServiceNow development and configuration experience, including custom development and integration, with at least 2-3 years of ServiceNow HRSD experience
- Demonstrated understanding of Service Now architectural design principles and implementation best practices
- Experience with integrations between ServiceNow and other tools/systems
- Proven working experience implementing, updating, testing and supporting core ServiceNow components; understanding of ServiceNow implementation end to end cycle.
- Experience writing clear and comprehensive technical documentation and ability to create analytical reporting.
- CIS-HR and/or Administrator certification required
Nice-To-Have Skills:
- Development experience working with SAP SuccessFactors HCM.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (JavaScript, HTML, CSS, XML).
- Deep expertise in data architecture, data modeling, cloud technologies (e.g., GCP, Azure), and modern integration patterns.
- Hands-on experience in programming such as Java, Python, REST/SOAP web services, JSON and database concepts.
- Experience working with Genesys Telephony System

- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Education:
- Post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or equivalent education/experience in software development.
- CIS-HR and/or Administrator certification required. ServiceNow Developer, Certified Application Developer (CAD), is an asset.
