JOB DESCRIPTION
Location: Hybrid (Downtown, Toronto)
Duration: 6 months
Our client, a leading financial institution in Downtown Toronto, is looking for a Business Analyst – US structured Credit products to collaborate with key stakeholders, including business users, product team, managers, and other technology teams, to understand business requirements, processes, and objectives. Analyze and translate these requirements into actionable plans and functional specifications. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with one of the Top 5 Banks in Canada.
Typical Day in role
- Participate in the modernization of legacy applications to increase efficiencies, harmonize the Bank’s solutions, as well as keep the Bank’s systems software currency maintained.
- Act as a subject-matter expert on market data applications and advise management and stakeholders on solutions and future initiatives.
- Analyze data to extract insights, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations throughout the course of business.
- Ability to work on multiple projects as a project team member and dealing with on & off hour production or lower environment support issues.
Must-Have Skills:
- 10+ years of experience in the financial/IT industry or relevant experience.
- 1-2+ years of experience with US structured Credit products
- Knowledge of market data such as interest rates, IR volatility, equities, inflation curves, or other relevant experience.
- Knowledge of system design, data modelling, and software development life cycle (SDLC).
Nice-To-Have Skills:
- Knowledge of Refinitiv and Bloomberg is an asset.
- Experience in SQL & no-SQL databases.
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Visio.
- Experience in Agile/Scrum software delivery model.
Soft Skills Required:
- Strong problem-solving and analysis skills along with a good ability to evaluate alternatives and provide recommendations and solutions to complex and multi-dimensional problem.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, to build consensus and obtain cooperation from stakeholders, as well as time management and organizational skills to effectively manage deliverables.
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment where processes and procedures are consistently refined.
- Ability to adapt and handle multiple tasks/competing priorities simultaneously.
Education:
- Under-graduate degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering or a related discipline.
