JOB DESCRIPTION

Location: Hybrid (Downtown, Toronto)

Duration: 12 months

Our client, a leading financial institution in Downtown Toronto, is looking for a Business Analyst to perform stakeholder analysis to identify impacted groups and stakeholder responsibilities. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with one of the Top 5 Banks in Canada.

Typical Day in role:

  • Develop requirements plans and accurate estimates for completion of requirements, continuously improving the level of detail and accuracy of estimates.
  • Manage risks, assumptions and constraints for requirements, and communicate to appropriate parties
  • Define the business analysis approach, including tasks and deliverables based on the project and delivery methodology.
  • Lead requirements prioritization and leverage techniques to identify business priorities.
  • Facilitate collaborative sessions with large and diverse business stakeholder groups to drive requirements discovery, analysis, review and prioritization.
  • Act as a liaison between business and technical teams, ensuring alignment and effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Analyze and document detailed business requirements and system requirements using enterprise standard requirements methodology.
  • Verify requirements for quality and validate requirements with the impacted stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain a repository of reusable requirements documentation to support future initiatives, following the enterprise and digital standards.
  • Resolve conflicts/issues on behalf of the BA team and escalate as required.
  • Support Design, Development, and QE activities by providing requirements clarifications.
  • Support QE test activities, including planning, defect triage, and root-cause analysis for requirements-related issues.
  • Support the consistency of standards and adherence to enterprise requirements methodology within own BA team.
  • Effectively communicate and build rapport with team members and stakeholders.

Must-Have Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst and/or Business Systems Analyst, preferably within large Financial Institutions.
  • Strong experience in both business and technical analysis, with the ability to bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions.
  • Experience with user stories, business and systems specifications, business context diagrams, business process maps, use cases and user story maps.
  • Experience working on Digital (Online and Mobile) banking projects
  • Hands-on experience with agile methodologies and working on agile projects
  • Experience in requirements elicitation techniques such as Document analysis, Interviews, facilitated workshops, Observation, Prototyping, Focus groups, Surveys

Nice-To-Have Skills:

  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or Project Management Institute –Professional in Business Analysis Certification (PMI – PBA)
  • Agile certifications such as Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), or similar.
  • Previous experience in Salesforce CRM and related salesforce certification
  • Master’s Certificate in Business Analysis

Soft Skills Required:

  • Ability to quickly learn organizational structure, business strategies and processes
  • Lead discussions on detailed requirement phases, identifying, tracking, escalating and/or resolving business systems issues
  • Write clear and well-structured business requirements documents
  • Advanced ability to resolve minor conflicts/issues using different tactics for prior to escalation
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced facilitation and presentation skills
  • Good organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple concurrent activities and to work successfully under pressure

Education:

Minimum Bachelor’s degree. Specialization in Business, Finance, Engineering, Math or Sciences
