JOB DESCRIPTION

Location: Hybrid | Downtown, Toronto

Duration: 3 Months | Strong possibility for an extension

Our client, a leading financial institution in Downtown Toronto, is looking for a Bilingual Agile Delivery Manager – Databricks, Spanish to track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) such as sprint velocity, data product quality, and stakeholder satisfaction. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with one of the Top 5 Banks in Canada.

Typical Day in role:

  • Agile Process Leadership: Act as a Scrum Master, facilitating Agile ceremonies (e.g., sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives) to ensure effective team collaboration, adherence to Agile principles, and continuous improvement in delivery processes.
  • Data Product Delivery: Oversee end-to-end delivery of data products, ensuring alignment with banking requirements, data quality standards, and regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, Basel III). Coordinate with Data Engineers to prioritize and deliver data pipelines, analytics platforms, and reporting solutions.
  • Stakeholder Facilitation: Serve as the primary liaison between Data Engineering teams and international banking stakeholders, including business units, compliance teams, and senior leadership. Translate business needs into actionable technical requirements and manage expectations through clear communication and status reporting.
  • Impediment Removal: Proactively identify and resolve blockers to team progress, whether technical, process-related, or stakeholder-driven, to maintain delivery momentum.
  • Team Empowerment: Coach and mentor Data Engineering teams to adopt Agile best practices, foster a culture of collaboration, and enhance technical and soft skills to improve delivery outcomes.
  • Metrics and Reporting: Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) such as sprint velocity, data product quality, and stakeholder satisfaction. Use insights to drive process optimization and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Risk and Compliance Management: Ensure data products adhere to international banking regulations and internal governance standards, collaborating with compliance and risk teams to mitigate potential issues.

Must Have Skills:

  • 8-9 years of experience in Agile project management or Scrum Master roles, with at least 5 years focused on data-related projects (e.g., data engineering, data analytics, or data warehousing).
  • Knowledge in Databricks and Azure
  • Proven track record of delivering data products or solutions in the banking or financial services industry, with knowledge of international banking regulations (e.g., GDPR, MiFID II, or equivalent).
  • Strong experience facilitating cross-functional teams and managing senior stakeholders in a global, matrixed organization.
  • Hands-on experience with Agile tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence)
  • Spanish language

Nice-To-Have Skills:

  • Data engineering workflows (e.g., ETL processes, data pipelines, cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Familiarity with data governance, data quality frameworks, and compliance requirements in banking.
  • Ability to coach teams and stakeholders on Agile practices and data-driven delivery.

Soft Skills Required:

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Effective communication skills to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or related field.
  • A Master’s degree is considered an asset.
