Product Control Analyst

JOB DESCRIPTION

Location: Hybrid(Downtown, Toronto)

Duration: 12 months

Our client, a leading financial institution in Downtown Toronto, is looking for a Product Control Analyst to produce and review daily GL account reconciliations between the Corporate Banking loans source system and the General ledger.. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with one of the Top 5 Banks in Canada.

Typical Day in role:

  • Produce and review monthly GL account reconciliations between the General ledger and EGL.
  • Produce and review daily P&L for the Corporate Banking business for loading to the P&L platform and ensure accuracy. Reconcile source data load to P&L platform and ensure that books are certified daily.
  • Liaise with GBM Finance as needed regarding month-end business line adjustments.
  • Monthly Balance Sheet Substantiation – for Toronto & International Transits, as assigned.
  • Prepare quarterly LC Guarantee Fair Market Value Reports, as needed.
  • Cross-training and filling in for other positions to cover vacation and absence. Resolve any exceptions and questions escalated from the accounting officers relating to the Corporate Loans transits.

Must-Have Skills:

  • 10+ years of experience as Accountant or similar role.
  • 2+ years of experience as a Product Control Analyst
  • 5+ years of experience producing, reviewing and resolving daily GL account reconciliations is crucial for this role.
  • 5+ years of experience in daily P&L reporting and analysis.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Advanced Excel (VBA macro, VLOOKUP, pivot tables)

Nice-To-Have Skills:

  • Previous experience with Corporate Banking / Corporate Lending products.
  • Previous experience with the top 5 Canadian banks

Soft Skills Required:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to be highly organized, to work independently and under pressure, and to handle multiple tasks within the tight time constraints.

Education:

  • University or post-secondary degree &/or technical background in related field is required
  • CPA
