Procurement Manager – Expert

JOB DESCRIPTION

Location: Hybrid | Downtown, Toronto

Duration: 12 months

Our client a leading financial institution in Downtown Toronto, is looking for a Procurement Manager – Expert to follow market trends. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with one of the Top 5 Banks in Canada.

Typical Day in role:

  • Forecasting, planning, and correctly assessing needs for goods and services to project stock levels, managing budgets and preparing reports
  • Liaising with suppliers and following up with suppliers concerning delivery times
  • Networking and negotiating with suppliers to ensure price adjustments and access to best costs. Research new suppliers
  • Management of the Request for Proposal (RFP) process including review of tenders

Must-Have Skills:

  • 10-15 years of procurement sourcing experience, not purchasing experience (No flexibility for less)*
  • Previous technology sourcing (5 years minimum experience)*
  • Leads negotiations for complex deals with a total contract value $5Million or more*
  • Contract authoring and editing*
  • Experience in leading and supporting cross-functional stakeholder interactions/relationships*
  • Purchasing field or Procurement Designation* 

Nice-To-Have Skills:

  • Proven experience sourcing and negotiating deals with AI providers
  • Understanding of procurement law and/or regulations
  • Business and Financial Acumen
  • Strong Negotiation skills
  • Strong contract acumen
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Achieving financial targets (individual targets of $5MM savings, and team targets of $25MM)

Education:
