Our client a leading financial institution in Cleveland, USA is looking for a LIHTC Compliance Analyst to be responsible for the collection and review of an assigned portfolio of 100% initial tenant file reviews during the lease up of a property and assigning appropriate Compliance risk ratings The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with one of the Top 5 Banks in Canada.
Typical Day in role:
- Communicate non-compliance issues to the attention of the V.P. of Asset Management Operations for corrective actions.
- Analyzes, summarizes, and reviews data; accurately reports findings, interprets results, and/or makes recommendations on annual state inspections. Pursue receipt of clearance documentation for any noted deficiencies or 8823 filings.
- Responsible for maintaining property files for Compliance on the Community Investments shared server, in addition to entering data into the Asset Management database.
- Maintain current knowledge on modifications to the various funding programs utilized for Affordable Housing properties.
- Assumes special projects as assigned.
- Proactively identify operational risks/ control deficiencies in the business
- Review and comply with the Firm Policies applicable to your business activities
- Escalate operational risk loss events, control deficiencies, and risks that you identify to your line manager and the relevant risk and control functions on a timely basis.
Must-Have Skills:
- Associate’s Degree in Business, plus a minimum of two years’ experience in multi-family real estate finance or rent-restricted multifamily asset or property management
- Five to seven years’ experience in multi-family real estate finance or rent-restricted multifamily asset or property management
- Proficiency in MS-Outlook and MS-Office applications
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to coordinate complex activities, prioritize conflicting demands, and meet deadlines
- Keen analytical skills and attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills, highly motivated, and able to work independently
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Nice-To-Have Skills:
- Work in MRI Software applications
- Working knowledge of the LIHTC program and the IRS 8823 Guide
- Tax Credit Certification from a recognized and reputable agency
