We've partnered with one of Canada's largest and long standing Real Estate Investment Trust's in their search for their next Financial Analyst. Working with the Project Development team, the Financial Analyst will support a portfolio of development projects across the residential, office, and commercial areas ensuring financial analysis, projects budgets, and cashflow projections remain within acceptable company standards per modelling requirements. Gathering information from across the Project team, Accounting, Finance, Leasing, Property Management, and Construction areas the chosen candidate will provide current proforma analysis for each project maintaining accurate forecasting of potential returns.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the budget update process, cashflow projects, and proforma analysis for reporting purposes
  • Perform detailed reviews on accounting documentations for the correctness of development cost tracking and allocations
  • Maintain/Improve master proforma and modelling templates per project requirements
  • Accurately prepare and describe variance reports for all project proformas and cashflow 
  • Maintain regular updates for all financial reports from areas such as construction, engineering, accounting, and leasing in relation to hold backs/deposits/recoveries
  • Perform a variety of reconciliation tasks throughout the project life cycle on a regular basis 
  • Maintain a tight record of project financial performance in relation to the initial timeline reporting any changes to the supervising manager
  • Coordinate and prepare lender/investor financing reporting packages
  • Ad-hoc tasks as required

Position Requirements

  • 4 years+ experience of related Real Estate Financial Analysis work
  • Educational background in business, finance, accounting, or equivalent from an accredited post-secondary institution
  • Strong preference for candidates with professional designation such as CFA, CPA, or Master programs
  • Advanced level user of technical systems such as MS Excel, Argus Developments, or equivalent 
  • Strong communication and accountability especially when working with external stakeholders
