JOB DESCRIPTION
Location: Hybrid | Downtown, Toronto
Duration: 6 months
Our client a leading financial institution in Downtown Toronto is looking for a Data/ Business Analyst/ PCO – Audit Tracking to engage with stakeholders/PMs to gather and summarize data points. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with one of the Top 5 Banks in Canada.
Typical Day in role:
- Data Gathering and Analysis:
- Analyze and document business processes, workflows, and system functionalities.
- Translate data/reporting requirements into excel based reporting
- Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Utilize Excel for data analysis, modeling, and creating reports.
- Set up and utilize Jira for tracking, workflow and reporting
- Develop dashboards and visualizations to communicate findings effectively.
- Identify trends and areas for improvement through data analysis.
- Project Management and Communication:
- Manage tasks and track progress using MS Project or Jira.
- Facilitate meetings and workshops with stakeholders.
- Prepare presentations using PowerPoint to communicate project status, analysis results, and recommendations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project alignment.
- Support user acceptance testing (UAT) and provide training to end-users.
- System and Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization.
- Recommend and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Ensure that system documentation is maintained and up-to-date.
Must-Have Skills:
- 5+ years of experience in Data Analysis roles/BA roles/Project Coordinator
- 5+ years of experience with Microsoft Excel (reporting, V-lookups, pivot tables, etc.)
- Strong proficiency in PowerPoint (ability to create presentations and communicate findings)
- 3+ years of experience with Jira/Confluence
- 3+ years of experience with Agile methodologies
Nice-To-Have Skills:
- PowerBI
- KPI experience
- Audit experience
Soft Skills Required:
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with various stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify problems, analyze root causes, and develop effective solutions.
- Business Acumen: Understanding of business processes and the ability to align technical solutions with business needs.
