Position Overview       

 

Our client, a large size Real Estate Investment Trust, Property Manager, and Developer is in need of an experienced Assistant Director to join their Development Accounting & Cash Management team! Currently, the company has initiated many development projects and are looking for experienced people to help drive these developments. Acting as a key business partner, this candidate will work closely with all project members ensuring the delivery of project accounting needs, reporting, budget monitoring, and other cash management and project tasks.

 

Responsibilities           

 

The candidate’s main responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Agreement Management
    • Entity record creation and payable/receivables schedules are maintained
    • Ensuring all reporting & budgeting requirements are met
  • Overall responsibility of development project level accounting, reporting, budget monitoring and forecasting
    • Preparation of Development Status Reports (DSR) including draw reports
    • Tenant agreements, allowances, etc
    • Acquisitions and sales reporting, analysis, and financial forecasting
    • Month, Quarter, Year end reporting and working paper preparation
  • Cash management duties
    • Intercompany transactions including payment releases, transfers, distributions, etc.
    • Loan interest rate calculations and reporting
    • Required payable/receivable management (Supervisory)
  • Ad hoc tasks as required

Qualifications    

 

Job Qualifications:

· University degree Business, Accounting / Finance and CPA designation is required

· Minimum five years of experience within an accounting function in real estate / real estate development

· Supervisory/Management experience of 1-2 person teams is an asset

· Proactive, self-motivated, flexible and collaborative individual

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Strong analytical skills, critical thinking, problem solving skills with high level of attention to detail and accuracy

· Proficiency with Microsoft Suite applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), Financial systems (Yardi, Jonas, Newstar, or equivalent)

Position Structure      

 

  • Full Time Permanent position
  • Hybrid set up – WFH/in office
    • Located in Vaughn, ON (accessible via public transit)
  • Salary: $140,000+
