Solution Architect – Cloud Architecture

JOB DESCRIPTION

Location: Hybrid | Downtown, Toronto and Scarborough

Duration: 6 months

Our client a leading financial institution in Downtown Toronto, is looking for a Solution Architect – Cloud Architecture to identify potential risks and issues associated with solution designs and propose mitigation strategies. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with one of the Top 5 Banks in Canada.

Typical Day in role:

  • Solution Design: Develop high-quality, scalable, and robust IT solutions that align with the business requirements and strategic goals of our clients.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and leadership to development teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with clients, project managers, and other stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements, and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Architecture Governance: Ensure that all solutions adhere to architectural standards, best practices, and industry regulations.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and issues associated with solution designs and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve solution quality and efficiency.

Must-Have Skills:

  • 10+ years of experience in IT architecture, solution design, and implementation.
  • 2+ years’ experience in networking and IT security best practices
  • 2+ years’ experience with cloud architectures on enterprise-scale projects (e.g. multi-cloud, hybrid deployments)
  • 5+ years’ experience with multiple design patterns (microservices, APIs, enterprise integration patterns)

Nice-To-Have Skills:

  • TOGAF an asset
  • Hands-on development experience in python or java
  • Application Security experience

Soft Skills Required:

  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to devise innovative solutions to complex technical challenges.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Leadership: Proven leadership abilities with experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent organization, time management, problem-solving, and analytical skills

Education:

  • Bachelor’s in technical field
  • TOGAF an asset
