Typical Day in role:
Technical Sales & Business Development
- Drive sales growth of environmental and food safety products, services, and scientific solutions within the assigned territory.
- Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities with laboratories, food manufacturers, environmental agencies, research institutions, and industrial clients.
- Develop strategic sales plans to achieve territory revenue goals and market expansion objectives.
- Maintain an active sales pipeline and provide accurate forecasting through CRM systems.
Customer Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong long-term relationships with key customer accounts and stakeholders.
- Serve as a trusted technical advisor by understanding customer workflows, operational challenges, and compliance requirements.
- Conduct regular client meetings, account reviews, and follow-ups to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
- Collaborate with internal teams to support customer onboarding, implementation, and issue resolution.
Technical Product Support & Presentations
- Deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations, and solution-based consultations to customers and prospects.
- Provide scientific and technical expertise related to environmental testing, food safety standards, laboratory workflows, and analytical solutions.
- Support customers with product evaluations, technical inquiries, and application recommendations.
- Participate in trade shows, conferences, seminars, and industry networking events.
Market Intelligence & Industry Engagement
- Monitor market trends, regulatory updates, competitive activities, and emerging technologies within environmental and food safety sectors.
- Gather customer feedback and market insights to support product development and commercial strategy.
- Stay current on industry regulations and standards related to environmental monitoring, food safety compliance, and laboratory testing.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with marketing, product management, customer support, operations, and scientific teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
- Assist in proposal development, pricing discussions, contract support, and commercial negotiations.
- Contribute to territory planning, sales strategy development, and business growth initiatives.
Must Have Skills:
- 3–7+ years of experience in technical sales, scientific sales, account management, or business development within life sciences, environmental testing, food safety, or laboratory services.
- Strong understanding of environmental testing workflows, food safety standards, laboratory operations, or scientific instrumentation.
- Proven ability to build client relationships and achieve sales targets.
- Excellent presentation, communication, and consultative selling skills.
- Experience delivering technical demonstrations and explaining scientific concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Nice-To-Have Skills:
- Experience selling analytical instrumentation, laboratory equipment, testing solutions, reagents, or scientific software.
- Knowledge of environmental compliance standards and food safety regulations.
- Existing relationships within environmental labs, food manufacturing companies, universities, government agencies, or testing organizations.
- Familiarity with CRM tools such as Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar platforms.
- Experience in a fast-paced, customer-focused commercial environment.
