JOB DESCRIPTION

Location: Hybrid | Downtown, Toronto

Duration: 12 Months 

Our client, a leading financial institution in Downtown Toronto, is looking for a Social Media Strategist to contribute to a high-performance, inclusive team environment. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with one of the Top 5 Banks in Canada.

Typical Day in role:

  • Champion a client-focused culture to deepen relationships and leverage broader Bank knowledge and partnerships.
  • Support the implementation and optimization of social media strategy for the bank’s Global Asset Management and Dynamic Funds.
  • Define relevant social media KPIs and measure performance to inform ongoing optimization and testing.
  • Oversee social media content development, including ideation, social copywriting, content calendar management, and publishing.
  • Lead the development of social first video content, with a primary focus on LinkedIn and YouTube, including short form and platform native formats.
  • Partner closely with designers and content leads to ensure content is clear, engaging, and aligned to brand and compliance standards.
  • Apply strong understanding of paid social media to ensure content is targeted, timely, and amplified effectively.
  • Stay current on social platform best practices, trends, tools, and emerging formats relevant to financial services.
  • Actively support effective operations in line with the bank’s Values, Code of Conduct, and regulatory requirements.

Must Have Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Social Media strategist agency or brand side
  • Deep understanding of social media metrics and best practices
  • Experience managing and developing social media content calendar for a brand
  • Advanced platform knowledge, including LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, X, Threads, Pinterest, and Snapchat
  • Familiarity with social media paid acquisition
  • Strong writing skills are required

Nice-To-Have Skills:

  • Experience with social publishing platforms, social analytics tools, and social listening

Soft Skills Required:

  • Critical thinking and great leadership skills
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills
  • Curiosity and a desire to grow within the Bank
  • Organization and time management

Education:

  • Degree in marketing, public relations, communications, or relevant field
