JOB DESCRIPTION
Location: Hybrid | Downtown, Toronto
Duration: 7 months
Our client, a leading financial institution in Downtown Toronto, is looking for a BSA – SQL, Python, Capital Markets/ Credit Risk to Support production issues and handle escalations during Release cycles as needed. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with one of the Top 5 Banks in Canada.
Typical Day in role:
- Strong analysis and investigation skills to determine root cause for ah hoc requests and summarize findings.
- Coordinate with upstream and downstream operational teams to ensure issues and operational changes are properly communicated to stakeholders.
- Develop and deliver Technical Specification Documents, Design Documents, Use Cases, and Process Models as required.
- Participate in the development of detailed project plans, the monitoring of progress against planned objectives, the financial review, and securing consensus and co-operation from users and senior management.
- Work closely across technology teams during all stages of the system development life cycle and bridge the gap between business and technology sides of the solution.
- Liaising between the business community and the IT organization to provide technical solutions that meet user needs.
- Build relationships and communicate effectively with colleagues in Global regions.
- Augment/ produce documentation and artifacts.
- Perform ad hoc project-work on various projects.
Must Have Skills:
- 3+ years’ experience as a BSA, with a proven ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications and deliver working results.
- 2+ years’ scripting experience to create and run queries using SQL and Python
- Experience working across multiple teams and functions to ensure alignment.
Nice-To-Have Skills:
- Experience in capital markets or retail credit risk
- Experience supporting application databases
- Experience working with JIRA/Confluence
Soft Skills Required:
- Exceptional analytical, problem solving and communication skills
- A self-starter to independently resolve, investigate, and analyze requests, issues, and deliverables.
- Ability to adapt quickly to new processes and standards, with a strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
Education:
- A recognized undergraduate degree or diploma in business administration, computer science or related field required.
