JOB DESCRIPTION
Location: Hybrid (Downtown, Toronto)
Duration: 12 months
Our client, a leading financial institution in Downtown Toronto, is looking for a Business Continuity Management Relationship Manager to champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with one of the Top 5 Banks in Canada.
Typical Day in role:
- Completes business continuity plan reviews within the assigned portfolio, ensuring 100% of reviews due or scheduled are completed in accordance with BCM program requirements.
- Provides support and recommendations to employees filling Business Continuity roles based on BCM Policy, Guidelines, Mandate(s) and industry best practices.
- Complete comprehensive review and/or testing of plans in portfolio in support of semi-annual compliance window and ensure data fidelity for accurate reporting.
- Facilitate or lead tabletop exercises as required by individual portfolios. Ensure all issues raised are closed and/or actioned by the appropriate employee filling the BCP role.
- Provide 24/7 incident management On-Call support per schedule. Following up until the issue/event is closed.
- Partners with relevant stakeholders across the Bank on the implementation of a governance structure that spans the business continuity lifecycle, including the creation and enhancement of business continuity management programs and systems.
- Takes active measures to understand individual portfolios to provide more tailored BCM support.
- Supports the Senior Manager and Director of the BCMU as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) with a focus on the ongoing maintenance and continuous improvement of the Business Continuity Management function
- Leads and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders on processes focused on Business Continuity Management, to create an improved end state by:
- Contributing to and/or reviewing communication material, including BCMU status, quarterly Continuum, BCM documents, including but not limited to the BCM Policy, Mandate(s), Training
- Supports the Senior Manager and works with relevant stakeholders across the Bank on enhancements to the enterprise-wide business continuity program
- Supports the team’s quality assurance program; liaises with regional teams to guide ensuring plans are current to the program needs
Must Have Skills:
- 2+ years working in the financial industry
- Solid background in developing communications, reports and presentations
- Experience working in a matrix organization leading and/or influencing cross-functional teams, including senior management
Nice-To-Have Skills:
- Experience in internal and external audits and/or regulators
- Business Continuity Planning Certification.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent analytical skills
- Strong communication, writing skills, and report preparation
- Flexible and creative thinker with the ability to define business trade-offs, generate out-of-the-box solutions and manage uncertainty; proactively identify and solve complex problems impacting management and business direction
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize against many competing interests in an environment of constant change
Education & Certificates:
- Bachelor’s in computer science, business, or any other related field.
