JOB DESCRIPTION

Location: Hybrid (Downtown, Toronto)

Duration: 12 months 

Our client, a leading financial institution in Downtown Toronto, is looking for a Content Designer to work across the core banking aspects of the Business Banking Journey, including a focus on multiple payment methods and payment and payee management. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with one of the Top 5 Banks in Canada.

Typical Day in role:

  • Apply content design expertise to bring meaning and understanding to the digital experiences we create, establishing information hierarchies to support client engagement with digital products.
  • Facilitate complex design critiques, evaluating and providing content recommendations to ensure consistency, inclusivity and guidance to a cross-functional team and overlapping features.
  • Participate in ideation and other collaborative activities, contributing their expertise to help broaden the group’s perspective on the work at hand

Must-Have Skills:

  • Minimum 4 years of writing experience at a creative agency or in-house creative team
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically about the challenge at hand
  • A portfolio of work samples showcasing your copywriting work
  • Ability and willingness to quickly absorb complex business requirements within the highly regulated context of the bank
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are critical
  • The ability to work with shifting priorities as we respond to client feedback in an agile environment.
  • Information design/hierarchy experience (as opposed to marketing/sales content)

Nice-To-Have Skills:

  • Experience with Figma
  • Broader product design experience
  • Experience using journey maps and storyboards as a design tool for telling the story of the experience we hope to create
  • Facility in French
  • A working knowledge of accessibility standards and methods to address them
  • A knowledge of design and technology trends

Soft Skills Required:

  • Strong ability to manage stakeholders and build relationships.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Self-starter, desire to take initiative and confidence in decision making. 
  • Ability to collaborate with peers and cross-functional team members

Education:

  • A post-secondary education, ideally with a university degree or college diploma
