JOB DESCRIPTION

Location: Hybrid (Downtown, Toronto)

Duration: 12 months

Our client, a leading financial institution in Downtown Toronto, is looking for a Training Advisor – Instructional Design, Adult Learning to create e-learning modules, videos, and other digital assets using tools such as Articulate 360 (Rise, Storyline), Vyond, and Adobe Creative Cloud. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with one of the Top 5 Banks in Canada.

Typical Day in role:

Design & Develop Digital Learning Content

  • Develop learning experience artifacts (storyboards, scripts, prototypes) for review and approval.
  • Ensure content aligns with established learning objectives, business goals, and learner needs.

Collaborate & Consult

  • Work closely with SMEs, HR partners, and internal stakeholders to gather requirements and validate content accuracy.
  • Provide expert advice on instructional design strategies, frameworks, and best practices.

Learning Experience Design

  • Apply adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies to create engaging, interactive, and effective learning solutions.
  • Conduct needs assessments and recommend solutions that address performance gaps and business objectives.

Project Management

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
  • Utilize Learning Management Systems (LMS) for course deployment, tracking, and evaluation.

Continuous Improvement

  • Use learning data and feedback to refine and enhance digital learning experiences.
  • Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in instructional design and digital learning.

Must-Have Skills:

  • 10+ years of experience in instructional design and adult learning.
  • Proficiency in Articulate 360 (Rise, Storyline), Vyond, and/or Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • 2+ years of experience with LMS platforms and digital content development tools
  • Strong understanding of adult learning theories and instructional design methodologies
  • 2+ years of experience with training project management

Nice-To-Have Skills:

  • Certification in Instructional Design or Adult Learning Principles
  • Previous experience in banking or financial services.
  • Spanish language proficiency

Soft Skills Required:

  • Excellent organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to collaborate effectively.
  • Problem-solving mindset with adaptability to work in fast-paced, ambiguous environments

Education:

  • Undergraduate degree in Instructional Design, Education, Business, or related field
