JOB DESCRIPTION

Location: hybrid (Downtown, Toronto)

Duration: 6 months

Our client a leading financial institution in Downtown Toronto, is looking for a Developer – Specialty to analyze highly complex business requirements; generate technical specifications to design or redesign complex software components and applications. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with one of the Top 5 Banks in Canada.

Typical Day in role:

  • Act as an expert technical resource for modeling, simulation and analysis efforts
  • Leverage industry best practices to design, test, implement and support a solution
  • Assure quality, security and compliance requirements are met for supported area
  • Be flexible and thrive in an evolving environment
  • Adapt to change quickly and adjust work accordingly in a positive manner
  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge
  • Works closely with customers, Business Analysts, and team members to understand business requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions.
  • Involved in the full system lifecycle and is responsible for designing, coding, testing, implementing and supporting applications software that is delivered on time and within budget
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Champions in high performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment; communications vision/values/business strategy and managing succession and development planning for the team

Must-Have Skills:

  • 8+ years of experience as a IT Developer (must have hands on experience in working on the Service Now platform as a developer using ACL’s, Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Actions, Rest and SOAP)
  • 3+ years of development experience in ServiceNow with hands-on experience with Service Now troubleshooting and developing the solution within the ServiceNow platform.
  • 3+ years of experience with JavaScript
  • ServiceNow Advanced System Administration certified, or training
  • 3+ years of experience in systems design and a solid understanding of development, quality assurance and integration methodologies

Nice-To-Have Skills:

  • Ability to do research and development of new ways to leverage the ServiceNow platforms
  • Hands-on experience in following the iterative and agile SDLC
  • Possesses in-depth knowledge of single large or multiple small applications
  • Ability to work on systems integration projects
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues independently
  • ITIL Foundation certification or training
  • Bilingual in Spanish

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering, or a related field required, or experience in the related field
  • ServiceNow admin, ITIL, training, or certification
