Infrastructure Support Analyst

JOB DESCRIPTION

Location: Hybrid | Toronto Downtown OR Vancouver

Duration: 6 months | strong likelihood for an extension

Our client a leading financial institution in Toronto Downtown OR Vancouver, is looking for an  Infrastructure Support Analyst to conduct daily checks, resolve issues that are assigned to the team on a priority basis, and work on project work that is assigned to the team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with one of the Top 5 Banks in Canada.

Typical Day in role:

  • Day-to-day Job Scheduler Platform Support (Active Batch). Includes: Defining and scheduling tasks, jobs, or processes to run at specific times or intervals. Ensuring tasks are executed correctly and efficiently Monitoring the progress and status of scheduled tasks and taking corrective action when needed.
  • Day-to-day server administration and support. Key technologies include Microsoft Windows Server 2016/2019, Active Directory, VMware, NetApp, CISCO
  • Promptly respond to and rectify system instability or failure.
  • Upgrades and enhancements to maintain the infrastructure hardware and software
  • Maintain IT documentation
  • Implement IT policies, procedures, and best practices to meet the needs of the organization and ensure they are being followed
  • Actively discuss, review, and recommend technical options and activities with the team
  • Proactively make recommendations to resolve technical system issues
  • At all times, interface with various members of the organization in a professional, calm, helpful and courteous manner
  • Adopts and shares best practices among colleagues

Must-Have Skills:

  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
  • Strong systematic troubleshooting, problem solving skills and initiative
  • Good planning, time management, documentation skills
  • Easily adapts to changing priorities
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Effective communication with team members, internal and external clients
  • Works well individually and within a team
  • A self-starter with a high degree of personal integrity, possesses a strong work ethic with a self-imposed desire to exceed everyday expectations
  • Strong technical knowledge of network and PC operating systems, hardware, protocols and standards
  • Ability to conduct and direct research into IT issues and products and present ideas in a business-appropriate and user-friendly language 
  • Advanced Knowledge of working with Enterprise Scheduler – Active Batch preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of Windows, Active Directory,
  • Understanding of basic VMware, Storage and Networking
  • Ability to work with multiple teams and stakeholders
  • Ability to analyze incident response and escalate to so correct resources are brought in to solve incident
