JOB DESCRIPTION

Location: Hybrid | Downtown, Toronto

Duration: 12 months

Our client a leading financial institution in Downtown Toronto is looking for a Researcher to facilitate workshops at various parts of the design process. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with one of the Top 5 Banks in Canada.

Typical Day in role:

  • Work across multiple cross-functional squads and provide research guidance when requested.
  • Partner with the product in deining and mapping the product strategy to client’s needs
  • Help the team identify and deine client needs via multiple research methods and tools
  • Utilize Client-approved research tools to conduct and analyze unmoderated and moderated user testing
  • Analyze the competitive landscape to identify business opportunities
  • Present their indings back to key stakeholders 

Must-Have Skills:

  • Comfortable leading medium to large research initiatives and partnering closely with product.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Experience with a variety of different research and testing methods. And which are appropriate to answer certain types of questions.
  • Ability to clearly articulate the client and the business problem, and to craft questions based on our blind spots 
  • Knowledge of service design methods and principles. Additional
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in research
  • Technical understanding of design research theory / design research tools
  • Working knowledge of a variety of design research methodologies 
  • Experience working on cross-functional teams

Nice-To-Have Skills:

  • Establishing, monitoring and measuring success/experience metrics.
  • Financial basics Additional
  • Appreciation for the potential of ‘design thinking’
  • Experience working within a large organization and within an agile environment
  • Experience contributing to the launch of a digital product

Soft Skills Required:

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, ability to collaborate with other designers and cross-functional team members, ability to manage stakeholders and build relationships.

Education:

  • BA/BS degree in Psychology, Anthropology, Sociology, Information Studies, Design (e.g. interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial), Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science (CS), or a related ield or equivalent practical experience
  •   MA/MS degree or certiication in Psychology, Anthropology, Sociology, Information Studies, Design (e.g. interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial), Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science (CS), or a related field
