Senior Business Analyst

JOB DESCRIPTION

Location: Hybrid | Downtown, Toronto

Duration: 12 months

Our client a leading financial institution in Downtown Toronto is looking for a Senior Business Analyst to identify and analyze business problems and defines the scope of activities required to address the issues, including requirement definition, process review, impact assessment and operational streamlining where appropriate. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with one of the Top 5 Banks in Canada.

Typical Day in role:

  • Source-to-Pay Technology Strategy: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to lead the development, planning, prioritizing and execution of various engagements to support integrated Source-to-Pay strategy. 
  • Initiative Management:  Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of key strategic engagements to ensure adherence to expected outcomes.
  • Leadership & Relationship Management: Build effective and strong relationships with key Procurement team members and Business Units by understanding their needs and dynamics across stakeholder groups, decision makers and influencers.
  • Annual Planning: In partnership with leadership support the initiative planning process to ensure full alignment with business unit strategic and financial planning.
  • Innovation and New Technology: Identify opportunities for improvement and develop tool agnostic solutions in partnership with key stakeholders. Lead the development of business case to ensure positive Return on Investment.

Must-Have Skills:

  • Strong Business and Technology acumen with proven ability to use data to make decisions and proven Strategy Development experience.
  • Expert level in Microsoft Office applications; particularly PowerPoint and Excel skills (pivots, complex logic statements, lookups, etc.)
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, superb written and oral communication skills, and meticulous attention to detail
  • Courage, tenacity, and an insatiable desire to challenge the status quo.

Nice-To-Have Skills:

  • Experience with Procurement or Source-to-Pay Solutions (Ivalua and Coupa)
  • Product Management
  • Procurement tools: Coupa, Ivalua, SAP, Concur

Soft Skills Required:

  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, superb written and oral communication skills, and meticulous attention to detail
  • Courage, tenacity, and an insatiable desire to challenge the status quo.

Education: MBA and/or similar discipline with Technology or Analytics focus
