Our client a leading financial institution in Downtown Toronto is looking for an Artificial Intelligence, Senior Data Scientist to play a pivotal role in leveraging advanced data science techniques to drive strategic decision-making and optimize sales strategies. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with one of the Top 5 Banks in Canada.
Typical Day in role:
- Conduct advanced data analytics solutions to support sales strategies and advisor relationships
- Develop and implement predictive models using machine learning techniques to predict prospects for new sales opportunities
- Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models for various applications across GAM
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders to understand their technical requirements and translate them into actionable data initiatives.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancement in AI and machine learning to continuously improve model performance and reliability
- Lead the productionization of data science models, ensuring robust and scalable deployment
- Contribute to the overall data strategy by accessing data sources, identifying new opportunities, and designing solutions that align with business objectives and goals.
- Incorporate advanced analytics techniques such as predictive modeling, clustering, and anomaly detection into dashboard visualizations to uncover hidden patterns and trends.
- Collaborate with data scientists to integrate advanced analytics algorithms into dashboard applications for real-time decision support and scenario analysis.
- Mentor junior data scientists, foster best practices, and collaborative with cross-functional teams, including data engineering, product, and business stakeholders, to integrate data science solutions.
- Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to non-technical stakeholders, providing insights and actionable recommendations to inform strategic decisions.
Must-Have Skills:
- Experience in the finance industry, particularly in asset management or investment banking
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, SQL and familiarity with data science libraries (e.g. TensorFlow, scikit-learn)
- Demonstrated expertise in machine learning, including supervised and unsupervised learning, deep learning, reinforcement learning, and Large Language models.
- Understanding of business context, objectives, and requirements. Ability to align ML solutions with business goals, identify opportunities for ML applications, and communicate the value and potential impact to the organization.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Education:
- Advanced degree (PhD or Master’s) in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, quantitative finance or econometrics, or related field.
