JOB DESCRIPTION

Location: Hybrid (Downtown, Toronto)
Duration: Until October 31, 2025 (Possibility for an extension, or conversion to full time employee)

Our client, a leading financial institution in Downtown Toronto is looking for a Product Owner – GCP, Power BI to manage stakeholders across multiple business lines and manage projects end to end, inception requirements gathering, design, implementation and change management. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with one of the Top 5 Banks in Canada.

Typical Day in role:

  • Support data governance activities onboarded through DRAP as well as support data quality issue management activities across the enterprise
  • Support Data Quality and Issue Management (DQIM) activities and Data Governance processes with a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Support user access management to Enterprise DQIM applications and Enterprise Dashboards and perform data analysis activities to support Data Quality efforts across the Enterprise
  • Support all levels of reporting and dashboards via PowerBI and Tableau
  • Perform data analysis and communicates results in support of data quality processes
  • Participate in knowledge transfer within the team and business units and identifies and recommends opportunities to enhance productivity, effectiveness and operational efficiency of the business unit and/or team
  • Monitor project progress by tracking activity; resolving problems; publishing progress reports; and recommending actions
  • Prepare technical reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
  • Assess, research, analyze, and document project needs and outcomes by selecting the appropriate information gathering and/or modeling technique to elicit requirements

Must-Have Skills:

  • 8 to 10 years of experience working as a Product owner
  • 8 to 10 years of experience effectively collaborating with partners and stakeholders on Data quality initiatives (Technology, Visualization, Data Stewards, and governance groups)
  • Knowledge and experience with GCP
  • Experience in building and managing dashboards in Power BI
  • Proficient with Jira, Confluence and Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel

Nice-To-Have Skills:

  • Financial Industry within data quality and data governance programs
  • Master is a plus

Education:

  • A university degree in Mathematics, Business, Engineering, Management, or relevant
