QA Analyst – Playwright/ Appium, Web & Mobile

JOB DESCRIPTION

Location: Hybrid | Downtown, Toronto or Mississauga or Scarborough

Duration: 6 months

Our client a leading financial institution in Downtown Toronto, is looking for a QA Analyst – Playwright/ Appium, Web & Mobile to Plan test schedules or strategies in accordance with project scope or delivery dates. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with one of the Top 5 Banks in Canada.

Typical Day in role:

  • 50% manual and 50% automation testing
  • Will be working in GitHub CoPilot which will be integrated with an internal platform so will be using AI in the role
  • Stand-up Meeting, Sprint planning, test scheduling and test execution
  • Testing as per the Acceptance criteria defined in user stories
  • iOS / Android App installation using XCode / Android Studio
  • Validation of client side and server-side error messages, requests / responses through Charles Proxy
  • Create Test Strategy, come up with Test Device Matrix and review with program team
  • Execute test scenarios, scripts, or procedures
  • Exploratory Testing, Backward compatibility testing
  • Test system modifications to prepare for implementation
  • Validation of API endpoints using Dynatrace
  • Develop testing programs that addresses areas such as database impacts, software scenarios, or usability Document software defects, using a bug tracking system, and report defects to software developers
  • Identify, analyze, and document problems with program function, output, online screen, or content
  • Monitor bug resolution efforts and track successes
  • Create or maintain databases of known test defects

Must-Have Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience in QA with a strong focus on test automation for native mobile apps, web applications, and APIs.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with Playwright or Appium
  • Strong experience in API automation using tools like Charles Proxy and Postman, with a focus on error handling and validation.
  • Coding experience in Python and/or JavaScript for test automation.
  • Experience with accessibility standards (AODA, WCAG 2.0/2.1) and testing techniques.

Nice-To-Have Skills:

  • Recent relevant Banking Industry Experience
  • Familiarity with AI-powered testing tools and cloud-based testing platforms.
  • French testing experience (to validate via Confluence pages)
  • Experience with Xcode, Android Studio, and mobile debugging tools.

  • Must be able to collaborate closely with a team at times, while also being capable of holding themselves accountable to meet individual deadlines without hand holding

Education:

  • Associate degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field
  • ISTQB certification an asset
